Texting While Driving: Don't Be A Statistic!

Traffic is the daily hassle we all deal with, and something we cannot avoid (That is until Elon Musk can colonise in Mars!).

And along with never ending traffic, and jaywalkers, road offences like speeding, driving through a red light, illegal parking, etc. there are a few other problems that aggravate the entire situation –the use of mobile phones while driving.

The smartphone era has undoubtedly helped mankind reach a new level of excellence! But this has also become a problem as the addictive minds use their cell phones while driving, or even walking on the streets.

Despite the efforts of the government, in a hurry, we violate the traffic rules, and send that one last email, putting our lives and the lives of others in danger.

FACT: Nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, out of which 1/5 times is dues to usage of mobile phones while driving.

Is a simple WhatsApp message, or a selfie worth losing lives over?

As road accidents increase, and we are still distracted with our phones, a concerned few have decided to do something about it-

The birth to World Remembrance Day. It was initiated by road victims in 1993, and adapted by the UN on 26 November, 2005. And is now celebrated on the third Sunday of November every year.

The Day is commemorated to remember the million lost to road accidents, and also pay respects to their families. As it is never one life that is lost, it’s a father, son, brother, or best friend that died on the road.

The day is also a thanksgiving to all the emergency services who have saved many lives by being there on time!

WDR is an initiative to reduce the road accidents that take valuable lives away! It is also a reminder that no matter what, driving safely is crucial for your life.

I cannot emphasis how important this is, or how close to the heart of many this topic should be. And that is why Koyas urges you to keep this in mind, and follow the traffic rules. Keep that phone inside, no app is worth dying for!

This way you a real superhero saving thousands that are on the road every day!

If you know you are driving to your death –would you still text and drive?

Put down your phone, your family is waiting for you!

Safe drive, Saves lives!
